8th Grade Band

Welcome to 8th Grade Band!!!

It’s A Great Day!!!

It has been an honor and a privilage to work with this amazing group of musicians. They are so willing to challenge themselves and I love to see the amount of growth that they have had as musicians from last year to this year! I know we are going to accomplish great things this year!!

We are currently working out of the Essential Elements, book 2 and 3. We are building upon all of the fundamentals that we built last year and are challenging ourselves with new music. We are currently working on sight reading music, playing sixteenth notes, legato and staccato tonguing, balancing and blending as a group, rhythm reading, and music notation.

All eighth graders are encouraged to be working on their practice logs (even just a little every day.) By having that work outside of the classroom, it means that we can work on harder techniques inside of the  band room.
